MAYVILLE, N.Y. – The Chautauqua County Department of Mental Hygiene is excited to announce the return of its annual Mental Health Awareness Month Art Contest, opening for submissions on April 1, 2026.

This year’s contest is part of the county’s broader Mental Health Awareness Month campaign, “Real Life. Real Support. Support looks different for everyone.” Community members of all ages are invited to share their creativity and perspective through art that reflects what support, hope, and mental wellness look like in real life.

Submissions will be accepted from April 1 through May 8, 2026. Selected winners will be recognized and receive themed prizes celebrating the importance of mental health and community support.

“This contest is a powerful way to lift up voices across our community,” said Trish McClennan, Deputy Director of the Department of Mental Hygiene. “Art helps us express what can sometimes be hard to put into words, and reminds us that support comes in many forms. We are excited to being this back to the community this year.”

Participants can find full contest details and submission information by scanning the QR code on promotional materials or in the Mental Health Awareness Month Toolkit.
