Chautauqua County Launches Lead Rental Registry Program

JAMESTOWN, NY – The New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH) recently announced the launch of its nation-leading Lead Rental Registry Program, designed to better protect children from dangerous lead exposure in rental housing. Jamestown, New York (ZIP code 14701) is one of 25 communities of concern selected for the initiative.

Boil Water Order Lifted For Fredonia Village Water Customers

MAYVILLE, N.Y – The Chautauqua County Health Department, in conjunction with the Village of Fredonia has lifted the boil water order for all Village of Fredonia water customers, including customers within the Town of Pomfret. 

The turbidity levels have fallen to safe levels and operations have returned to normal. Two consecutive days of testing indicate that the water in the distribution system is safe for drinking, cooking, making ice, brushing teeth, making coffee, etc.
