Chautauqua Lake Symposium: Collaboration for a Healthier Lake

MAYVILLE, N.Y.This weekend, the public is invited to join the 2026 Chautauqua Lake Symposium, a collaborative forum bringing together scientists, lake managers, policymakers, and stakeholders to share knowledge, align efforts, and continue building momentum toward a healthier Chautauqua Lake.

This year’s symposium will highlight ongoing collaboration and lake management strategies, led in part by AJ Reyes, Chautauqua Lake Manager with GEI Consultants, whose role reflects the County’s continued commitment to coordinated, science-based stewardship of the lake.

🕘 8:30 a.m. meet-and-greet | 9:00 a.m. program begins
📍 Chautauqua Harbor Hotel, 10 Dunham Ave, Celoron, NY

The symposium will open with remarks from County Executive Paul M. Wendel Jr., along with other elected officials.

“One of our biggest priorities has been strengthening collaboration around Chautauqua Lake,” said Wendel. “I’m excited to have a dedicated Lake Manager helping bring partners together, align data and strategies, and keep this work moving forward in a meaningful way. The Symposium continues to be an important space for learning, listening, and working together.”

The symposium is free and open to the public. Those unable to attend in person can watch the event live on Chautauqua County’s YouTube channelyoutube.com/@ChautauquaCounty. A recording will also be available following the program.
