
Flood Watch in Effect for Chautauqua County Through Late Tonight

The National Weather Service has issued a Flood Watch for Chautauqua County, in effect through late tonight due to the potential for excessive rainfall that could lead to flash flooding.
What to Expect:
Heavy Rainfall: A slow-moving cold front will pass through the region this afternoon and evening, bringing rounds of showers and thunderstorms.
Flash Flooding Possible: Repeated storms over the same areas may lead to significant runoff, resulting in flooding in low-lying areas, small streams, creeks, and poor drainage locations.
Areas Included:
This Flood Watch includes Chautauqua County as well as the surrounding counties of Cattaraugus, Allegany, Livingston, Monroe, Ontario, Southern Erie, Wayne, and Wyoming.
Safety Tips:
Stay alert for rapidly rising water and never drive through flooded roads.
Be prepared to act if a Flash Flood Warning is issued later today.
