Common renovation practices on painted surfaces like sanding, scraping, and cutting can generate hazardous levels of lead dust and paint chips if done improperly. This can create an even larger hazard to both child and adult health. For this reason, it is essential to know how to renovate lead-painted surfaces.
The Lead Renovation, Repair, and Painting Rule (RRP) requires anyone completing work that disturbs lead based paint is required to become an EPA Lead Certified Renovator.
If you are a contractor, property manager, landlord, or DIY’er, getting proper lead paint certification protects your family, customers, and your business. Many homes across Chautauqua county were built before 1980, which means many of them likely contain lead paint. Protect your community and further your career by receiving lead-paint training!
