The 2025 Chautauqua County Fair officially opened Tuesday with a full day of celebration, learning, and community pride. Chautauqua County Executive PJ Wendel joined several other officials for the festivities, participating in the opening ceremony and touring several key exhibits that highlight the spirit and legacy of the Fair.
A brand-new exhibit building was unveiled and named in honor of Henry J. Leworthy and his family, longtime contributors to the Fair. Inside, dozens of Leworthy’s beautifully preserved taxidermy pieces are now on display.
PJ Wendel visited the 4-H barns to meet youth exhibitors Kaelynn and Anastazi, who proudly showcased their unique rabbits and talked about what makes their animals special this year.
The 2025 Chautauqua County Fair continues through Sunday, July 20 at the Fairgrounds in Dunkirk, NY. For a full schedule of events, visit: www.chautauquacofair.org
