District Attorney Jason Schmidt announced Monday that Aubrey Baize, age 30, of Falconer, was sentenced today, July 15^th, in Chautauqua County Court by Judge David W. Foley to an indeterminate state prison sentence of 4 to 12 years after being conviction by a Chautauqua County jury in April 25, 2024 Arson in the Third Degree, a class C felony. In July 2022, the defendant intentionally started a fire in Kennedy, located in the Town of Poland, that consumed two houses and damaged others nearby.

The District Attorney's Office and the Jamestown Police Department are excited to announce a community buyout event for the Jamestown Tarp Skunks game on Wednesday, July 17th at 6:30 p.m. This initiative is part of the Gun Involved Violence Elimination (GIVE) grant, aimed at reducing gun violence and fostering a safer community.

Billy Heilman, age 38, of Panama, was sentenced Monday, July 1^st, in Chautauqua County court by Judge David Foley to a determinate state prison sentence of six years with three years of post-release supervision on a Violation of Probation.

Codie Swartz, age 24, of Jamestown was sentenced Monday , June 17^th, by Judge David Foley to a determinate state prison sentence of four years with 3 years of post-release supervision after he was convicted of Assault in the Second Degree, a class D violent felony. On July 30, 2022 a fight broke out at the Wine Cellar in the City of Jamestown where four individuals were injured. Mr. Swartz attacked one of the victims and injured three others that attempted to break up the fight.

District Attorney Jason Schmidt announced Wednesday that Matthew Nuttall, age 26, of Jamestown, New York, has been charged by a Chautauqua County Grand Jury with Manslaughter in the First and Second Degrees arising from the April 13^th death of 16 month old Isaac Benton of Jamestown, New York.  Mr. Nuttall is accused of intentionally throwing Isaac onto a Pack ‘n Play playpen, causing Isaac’s death, while Mr.
