COVID-19 Testing Information

Testing

How to get tested:

At-Home COVID-19 Tests

  • Many pharmacies sell COVID-19 tests. Call your health insurance company as many health insurance providers reimburse for, or cover the cost of, at-home tests.
  • Many COVID-19 tests have extended expiration dates, so you may be able to use your COVID-19 tests after the expiration date that is printed on the box. To find out if your test has an extended expiration date, check the FDA's list of extended expiration dates
  • The free at-home COVID-19 test distribution program is not currently accepting orders.

What to Do if You Test Positive

If you test positive for COVID-19 on a home test or other type of test, then:

  • Call your doctor with questions about your own health and advice for managing symptoms. If you are having trouble breathing or are experiencing severe symptoms, call 9-1-1 immediately.
  • Stay home and isolate away from others (including people you live with who are not sick) if you have respiratory virus symptoms to prevent spreading the virus to others.
