As part of NYSDOH's Childhood Lead Poisoning Prevention efforts, the Chautauqua County Health Department offers two different programs that function to help PREVENT lead poisoning, and to LOWER elevated blood lead levels when a child tests high.

Children with Elevated Blood Lead Levels - ≥5ug/dL

All children should be tested for lead at ages one and two, but also anytime you believe they have been exposed to lead!
Take this quick questionnaire to see if your child should be tested again!
If your child's lead test comes back high, we are here to help! Our Lead Poisoning Prevention Team will work with you to FIND and FIX the source of lead poisoning to get your child's lead level down as quickly as possible.
CCHD is required by the New York State Department of Health to do a home visit when a child tests high for lead. If your child tests high for lead, we will call you to schedule a home visit, but you do not have to wait for that call! As soon as you are notified that your child's level is high, call us to get started!
