Lead poisoning can cause permanent learning and behavior problems in the children in our community. As a Contractor, YOU can help PROTECT our children from this preventable danger, while also advancing your career!

Over three quarters of homes in Chautauqua County were built before 1980, many of which were built before 1940. 94% of housing units in the City of Jamestown alone were built before 1978 which may require some level of lead work in the next three years. Improper lead remediation can increase risk of hazardous exposure to lead and lead dust. In order to ensure the safest lead remediation process, contractors must be EPA certified before completing lead work.
In efforts to expand the local workforce to support the growing demand for lead-safe contracting work in Chautauqua County, Chautauqua County Health Department provides local contractors the opportunity to attend FREE EPA Lead-Safe certification courses.
