The Chautauqua County Health Department – Environmental Health Division issues permits for, and conducts inspections of food service establishments (restaurants) and caterers in the County. Regular routine inspections occur to check if the facility is in compliance with New York State Department of Health food safety regulations. Prior to issuing a permit and during an inspection, our staff discuss safe food handling practices to make sure operators know how to implement safe food handling practices to protect their patrons.
