The National Weather Service maintains a Lake Effect Snow Warning for Chautauqua County, effective until 7 PM on Tuesday, December 3, 2024.

A spike in suspected fatal drug overdoses was observed in Chautauqua County over the weekend, likely indicating that a deadly supply of street drugs is in the community.   

The North County temporary assistance and medical assistance has moved to a new location: 15 W. Lucas Avenue in Dunkirk, New York.

County Offices to Close at Noon in Anticipation of Winter Storm
MAYVILLE, N.Y.:-- Chautauqua County Executive PJ Wendel has announced that many
Chautauqua County Government offices will be closing early on December 23, 2022 in
anticipation of the winter storm that is expected to hit the area later this week.
The National Weather Service in Buffalo has issued a Winter Storm Warning in effect from
Friday morning through Monday morning for Cattaraugus, Chautauqua and Wyoming Counties.

This is a reminder of the NYS Department of Health mask mandate that is currently in effect until further notice.  If your business does not already have signage posted, please post one of these signs at all entrances:

The Chautauqua County Department of Health and Human Services is encouraging all Social Services clients with an appointment on Monday, March 16, in Mayville, Jamestown or Dunkirk, to not come in for scheduled appointments or non-emergency services.  Negative actions will not be taken on the case as a result of missing an appointment.&
