Homeowners are obligated to remediate any lead hazards identified during the inspection process. We recognize that remediation can be costly, so our CCHD risk assessors are dedicated to work closely with you during the workplan process to ensure lead-safe remediation practices are followed, and assist you with providing information on grant funding opportunities

CCHD works in partnership with a variety of local, state, and federal organizations to provide grant funding opportunities in efforts to increase healthy housing environments in our community. For more details, please visit our Grant Funding Opportunities Page

Ensure Work is Completed with Proper EPA Certification

If you plan to complete the work yourself, our Risk Assessors offer a Lead Safe Work Practices (LSWP) training, which is tailored to homeowners. Upon completion of the training, you will also receive a complimentary paint supply package. Should you choose to outsource labor, we can also provide with a list of RRP certified contractors that service Chautauqua County. You are more than welcome to utilize a contractor of your choice, but it is MANDATORY that they obtain the appropriate EPA Certifications. CCHD promotes the business development of Chautauqua County's local contractors, so if you plan to use an outside contractor that is not certified, have them contact us to register then for FREE RRP Certification Training. Contractors who complete their certification are also eligible to receive a complimentary paint supplies package.
