All Legislature Committee meetings as well as the full Legislature meetings are in-person open meetings and will be held in the Legislature Chambers on the third floor of the Gerace Office building.

The meetings are open to the public and subject to any current required COVID-19 guidelines..

Baring any unforeseen technical difficulties, the full legislature meetings will continue to be live streamed on the County YouTube page and the videos will be available for viewing for no less than a year after the meeting. 

The minutes of all legislature committee and full legislature meetings continue to be posted on the legislature web pages.

PUBLIC COMMENTS::  Any comments received from the public will be accepted as communications, and not read during privilege of the floor..  Public comments at the meetings during the privilege of the floor must be made in person.

Notice of Public Hearing

Chautauqua County

The Chautauqua County Legislature will hold a public hearing on July 22, 2026 at 6:35 p.m. at the Robert H. Jackson Center located at 305 E. Fourth Street, Jamestown, N.Y. 14701 New York for the purpose of hearing public comments on the County’s community development needs, and to discuss the possible submission of one or more Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) applications for the 2026 program year.

The NYS CDBG program is administered by the New York State Homes and Community Renewal and will make available to eligible local governments approximately $45 million for the current program year for housing, public infrastructure, public facilities, economic development, imminent threat, and community planning, with the principal purpose of benefiting low-to-moderate income persons. Chautauqua County is applying for $100,000 in CDBG funds to support the development of a hotel and spa at 31 S. Erie Street in the Village of Mayville. It is expected that $84,000 of the requested CDBG funds will be used to offset the cost of equipment and working capital expenses, with the remaining funding utilized for expenses related to program delivery and grant administration. It is anticipated that the project will result in the creation of 6 full-time equivalent jobs, 4 of which will be available to low-to-moderate income persons. The hearing will provide CDBG program information and accept public input on proposed grant applications and alternative project ideas.

The public may participate in the public hearing by appearing in person at the Robert H. Jackson Center during the 6:35 p.m. public hearing to make a live statement. The location of the hearing is accessible to persons with disabilities. Execution of Master Hangar License Agreement for General Aviation Aircraft Storage at the Chautauqua County Jamestown Airport

PUBLIC NOTICE is given that the Chautauqua County Legislature will hold a public hearing at the Robert H. Jackson Center on July 22, 2026 at 6:35 P.M. regarding implementing a standardized, uniform agreement to govern all individual aircraft storage assignments within the shared, unheated, and self-service general aviation hangar facility identified as Hangar A at the Chautauqua County Jamestown Airport

1.   Term.          Three (3) years commencing August 1, 2026 and terminating July 31, 2029

2.   Payment.    As determined by Schedule B 

3.   Other.         As negotiated by the County Executive.

The public may participate in the public hearing by appearing in person at the Robert H. Jackson Center during the 6:35 PM public hearing to make a live statement. The hearing facility is handicapped accessible and the meeting is open to the public.

MAYVILLE, NY – The Chautauqua County Legislature will hold its monthly meeting at a special off-site location next week in recognition of the historic connection between Chautauqua County and one of its most internationally recognized figures, Robert H. Jackson.

The Legislature’s meeting will take place on Wednesday, July 22, 2026, at 6:30 p.m. at the Robert H. Jackson Center Theater, located at 305 E. Fourth St., Jamestown, NY. The meeting remains open to the public and will also be livestreamed on the Chautauqua County Government YouTube channel at www.youtube.com/@ChautauquaCounty.

The special meeting location coincides with two significant milestones being celebrated this year: the 25th anniversary of the Robert H. Jackson Center and the 80th anniversary of the International Military Tribunal at Nuremberg, where Robert H. Jackson served as chief United States prosecutor and played a pivotal role in shaping the foundation of modern international criminal justice.

“This was a great opportunity for the Legislature to recognize the incredible work being done by the Robert H. Jackson Center and celebrate its lasting impact locally, nationally, and internationally,” said Chautauqua County Legislature Chairman Pierre Chagnon. “The Jackson Center approached us about the possibility of holding one of our meetings there, and we were pleased to make this happen.”

“The Robert H. Jackson Center is celebrating its 25th year as a national and international nonprofit with deep roots and commitment to Chautauqua County,” Chagnon continued. “The Center works to be a strong community partner with Chautauqua County organizations, schools, government, and residents. This year also marks the 80th anniversary of the Nuremberg Trials, where Robert Jackson helped create the international criminal justice system under which the world operates today, as well as the 85th anniversary of Jackson’s appointment to the United States Supreme Court.”

The Robert H. Jackson Center, located in Jamestown, NY, works to advance Justice Robert H. Jackson's legacy through education, including live presentations, exhibits, available media, research, and scholarship. These efforts demonstrate the relevance and applicability of Justice Jackson’s ideas to present and future generations. Particular emphasis is placed on educating youth on critical justice issues and the rule of law. The center’s efforts are based on Jackson’s views on international law, constitutional law, and human and civil rights.
